The water of the Euganean Spa springs from a source 1500 mt above sea
level in the Little Dolomites area. The rain water penetrates
underground to a depth of 3000 m where it becomes rich in mineral salts
and is gradually heated. It takes more than 25 years to run 100 km and
to reach the Euganean area where water comes out from the spa wells. |

When thermal water springs out, it has a temperature of about 87° C and it
is used to mature mud but it is used also as a treatment in the thermal
baths, for inhalation therapies and in thermal swimming-pools where the
hydro-kinetic-therapy and medical hydro-gymnastics take place. |

Thermal mud
is made of a combination of clay, bromide-iodine-salt water, micro-organisms
and biomaterials.
The maturation process occurs in specific tubs where high temperature and
the chemical components of the thermal water make the particular micro-flora
develop enormously. |
